Practice Policies

It is an honor to have the opportunity to work beside my clients to help them resolve challenges they are facing so that they can have a more satisfying and hopeful future. Like in any relationship, effective communication and a clear understanding of expectations is key to a successful outcome. It is for this reason that I feel it is important to layout my practice policies and fees in advance. Please read through them thoroughly and feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.


Free Consultation

I understand how important it is to find the right coach/therapist to meet your needs. In order to get to know me a bit and understand the services I provide and my approach to working with clients, I offer new clients a free 15 minute phone consultation. Intake Paperwork

 All new clients must complete certain intake documents prior to their first session. These documents are important in that they not only allow me to get you set up as a client. The information shared by you allows me to prepare for our time together so that we can use your time effectively. If paperwork is not completed prior to the start of the session time can be taken from your session to complete the paperwork at my office. 


Standard Fees:

Sessions are either 50 or 80 minutes depending on the service and payment is expected at the end of the appointment. We can schedule the next appointment at that time or you can schedule through the online booking page of this website. Your first appointment must be scheduled directly with me.


Counseling Fees

  • Initial Couples Assessment (first appointment is 80 min $150)
  • Couples Therapy Session Ongoing      Options: 50 min $100.00   80 min $150   per session 
  • Initial Individual Assessment: 50 minutes $100 
  • Individual Therapy Session Ongoing: 50 min $100


Relationship Coaching and Divorce Coaching Fees

All time spent on services provided in support of a client are billed at $150/hour to include: face to face coaching sessions, communication with attorneys or financial professionals (email, phone in person), time in court including travel time.) An  estimate will be created and shared after the initial session to determine the likely amount of time that will be needed to assist the client and either a retainer will be collected or a credit card put on file)


Collaborative Divorce and Facilitation

When serving as the mental health facilitator for a collaborative team or providing mediation service my fee is $150/hour which includes time spent working on your divorce process, face to face meetings and communication with other professionals involved in your divorce (email, phone, in person).


Forms of Payment: checks, *credit cards (other than Am Ex),  cash or Health Savings Account cards (HSA is for individual counseling only).

*a convenience fee is charge for credit cards


Do you take insurance? 

I am currently accepting Blue Cross Blue Shield medical insurance, Medicare part B and will bill out of network for other insurance providers if a client has that benefit. Couples counseling and coaching are not considered covered benefits by medical insurance. It is the client's responsibility to verify their benefits. We will bill your insurance as a courtesy. I charge a one time $30 fee to cover administrative costs to set a client up for insurance billing. All co-pays and deductibles are due at the time of service. Please contact your insurance carrier to verify their policy.

You can also use your FSA or HSA card to pay for sessions, if your insurance company approves.


Cancellation Policy:

The time you schedule for counseling is reserved specifically for you. If you fail to come to your appointment, the hour goes unused. As a courtesy to me, and my other clients, please notify me as soon as you realize you cannot keep your scheduled appointment. There is no charge for cancellations with more than 24 hours advance notice. However, a $75 fee will be charged for no-shows and late cancellations (less than 24 hours). This policy applies to all missed appointments due to circumstances such an illness, child’s illness, last minute conflicts, traffic and forgetting.

After you cross the RR tracks (1 block before Davidson College/Main St.) turn right on Jackson St. Go past Post Office/public parking (on left), past Davidson Dance (on left), the next parking lot on the left is 134 Jackson St. /Knox Court – we’re in the same building as Davidson Family Medicine, on the second floor, suite 201. Elevator is available.
